WHY YOU NEED TO REMIND YOURSELF RIGHT NOW: IT'S NOT ABOUT YOU.

A reflection on shifting our perspective and realizing that most conflicts and distances are not personal, but a result of others dealing with life.

Have you considered that it’s not about you?

The issue, the blowup, the distance, the silence, the thing that’s making you believe it must be about you, have you considered that it’s not?

Everyone, especially now, is dealing with life.

Many of your friends are grieving. Many of your friends are unemployed. (Have you caught the news about global layoffs?) Many of your friends are heaving under the pressures and transitions of life. Many of your friends are doing their best to keep believing, that betters days are ahead.

"Grace does not say, what have you done for me lately? Grace says, what has God done for me eternally that I can extend to others graciously?"

It is written, “In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33)

May the Lord help us to give ourselves and others grace as you (and I) navigate the often uneven terrains, triumphs and troubles of life.

May He help us to, along with the world, overcome the tempting belief, that it’s always about us.

And Lord, may you help us to be as gracious with one another in their journeys as you are with us in ours, in Jesus’ Name we pray, Amen and Amen.
